Configure Two-Factor Authentication with Google Authenticator

Introduction

This page is for users who would like to set up two-factor authentication with CompuIntegration Remote Support (CIRS) using Google Authenticator. With this method, a host can log into Remote Support and then open the Google Authenticator app to retrieve the one-time password. After entering the one-time password, the host will fully log in.

Google Authenticator setup

1. Download the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device

Download the Google Authenticator app for iOS or Android.

2. Scan the QR code into your Google Authenticator app

Scan the QR code into your Google Authenticator app, or enter the QR contents into the app.

 
 

3. Select a user source

Where are your users stored?



 

4.Copy this key

 

5. Add the key to a user object

Warning: Do not surround your user identification key with brackets.

 

5. Add the key to a user object

Add the user identification key, surrounded by brackets, to the Description field of your user object.

Warning: Be sure to surround the identification key with brackets.

 

 

5. Add this key to the OTP field for your user

In the OTP (email, goog, yubi, linotp, duo) field, paste your identification key.
